During their stay in Jessy Cohen, Sylvia and Stephan wrote a song
about the Glocal Neighborhood Exchange and talked with some of the

Glocal Neighbors Song
by Sylvia and Stephan
This song is about the glocal neighborhood
of Stuttgart Nordbahnhof
and Jessy Cohen
this song is about the glocal neighborhood
about their mutual exchange
Both of those neighborhoods are quite diverse
and have to deal with a narrow purse
but in culture they are rather rich
and on culture they have built a bridge
Different kinds - of people from each neighborhood
social activists, architects and artists
Hold meetings on the internet to share ideas
to learn about and from each one
Jessy Cohen is a disrict of Holon
on philanthropy it´s built upon
immigration is a key factor
when it comes to limn its character
In the heart of Jessy Cohen is an Art Center
with a carpenter
run by open software
an archive for videos and artist shows
operated by a marvelous team
Stuttgart Nordbahnhof is under threat
gentrification seems to be ahead
between train tracks, grave yard and the park
big investments gonna leave its mark
Wagenhalle is the art hub in the area
that´s from where we are
and 80 more creatives
who live and work in this historic train depot
Some of them we brought with us
to reflect on and discuss
introducing glocal neighborhood
The artist sleeps the whole day through
it - seems that he has caught the flue
but in fact he´s working while he dreams
on implementing meaning by new means
The ar-chitects are more the hands-on ones
the ones who get things done
they start immediately
not only building chairs and kitchen blocks
but a whole community!
…
Social-workers in each neighborhood take care
about the worries people have to bare
their skills help them to get along
to manage life by getting strong
The art - directors have the overview
of all the things to do
they pull the cash on board
they reflect - the context in their theory
and cast it into noteworthy words.
...
Urban gardeners are ploughing through
ex-periencing growth anew
they cultivate far more than kale
namely on a social scale
If the neighbors and their kids come to participate
the project turns out great
it brings us all together
people from all walks of life
cooperate!
keep it nice beyond your space
put a smile upon your face
celebrating glocal neighourhood

On 11.5, Jessy Cohen Nachshonim group, from Ha'shomer Ha'tzair, put on the play "Eco - logi". The play is based on a book by Tamar Adar. The play deals with nature conservation and the environment
The production of the show was led by an amazing volunteer named Wolf Eili
Preparation for the play took three months. In that time we rehearsed, prepared the sets and costumes . Families and other guests from the city and the neighborhood attended the event. Before the show we held a traditional "Boona" Ceremony and ate "Dabu" that was prepared by the mothers of the kids.

Scratch Orchestra
Since November 2013, a group of women from Jessy Cohen and the area, are meeting every week with composer Amnon Wolman and cellist Dan Weinstein.
This workshop idea is that everybody who likes to play can do so, and not only that, but also take part in composing a musical piece that is meaningful to them. The emphasis has been on the performers’ experience during the process of composing and performing the piece, rather than on the final product.
Here are some photos from the orchestra's performance last week in the exhibition "A Piece for Two Floors and a Corridor", followed by a tour in the neighborhood, listening to a piece composed especially for the acoustic wall separating the neighborhood from the highway.
